Amr ibn Abd al-Wud (or Amr bin Abdu Wud or ʻAmr ibn ʻAbdī l-Widd al-ʻAmrī) was a champion of Quraish, killed by Ali in the Battle of the Trench.〔http://www.swordofallah.com/html/bookchapter4page8.htm〕〔http://www.erfan.ir/article/article.php?id=7122〕 He was given the title of the Victor of Yalyal (Yalyal `Amr ibn `Abd-Wudd)〔Sharh Nahj al-Balāghah by Ibn Abi’l-Hadīd, Vol 4, Page 344〕 because once he was with a caravan going to Shaam when they reached Yalyal, one thousand robbers attacked and Amr bin Abde Wudd faced and drove them away alone by holding a young camel as a shield. According to Muhammad Baqir, when he issued a duel challenge in the Battle of Khandaq against Muslims, they came behind the Prophet.〔http://www.al-islam.org/hayat-al-qulub-vol-2-allamah-muhammad-baqir-al-majlisi/battle-khandaq〕 Then Ali ibn Abi Talib stood forward accepting the challenge. Amr lost the duel and was killed afterward〔http://www.al-islam.org/hayat-al-qulub-vol-2-allamah-muhammad-baqir-al-majlisi/battle-khandaq〕 After the battle, when Amr’s sister heard that the killer of her brother did not remove anything from the body of her brother, she said, “His killer is definitely a noble person with high moral values!” When people said that it was `Ali Ibn Abi-Talib (a.s) she recited the following couplets: ''If `Amr’s killer was anyone other than `Ali,'' ''I would have cried for him forever'' ''But his killer is he who has no faults'' ''And his father is known as chief of Makkah''.〔Amali al-Murtadha, vol. 2 p. 7-8〕 ==References== 〔 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Amr ibn Abd al-Wud」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
